Ar-Rahman · 55:13 (repeated 31 times)
فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
This verse appears 31 times in Surah Ar-Rahman — the same question, asked again and again, addressing both humans and jinn together ('tukadhdhibaan' is dual form). The surah opens with Allah teaching the Quran, then lists blessing after blessing: the sun and moon in orbit, the stars and trees in prostration, the balance of justice, the creation of humanity from clay, the meeting of the two seas. After each gift, the question returns: 'So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?' The scholars said: the repetition is mercy. Allah is not shaming — He is inviting the heart to finally stop and count.
The Prophet ﷺ recited this surah to the Companions and they fell silent. He said: 'Why do I not hear from you what the jinn responded?' They asked what the jinn had said. He said: 'Every time I recited the verse, they responded: None of Your favors, our Lord, do we deny. Yours is all praise.'
Sit with this question for sixty seconds. What favor of your Lord — right now, in this moment — would you deny?
Read Surah Ar-Rahman today. After each repetition of the verse, say aloud: 'None of Your favors, our Lord, do we deny.'
“Allah asked it 31 times in one surah. He is waiting for your answer.”
