Ikhlas

Sincerity and purity of intention.

Ikhlas means doing what is right for Allah, not for applause, ego, reputation, or reward from people. It is the purification of the heart's intention so that your actions become a conversation between you and Allah alone. The scholars said: an act with Ikhlas, even if small, will be heavy on the scale. An act without it, even if large, may weigh nothing.

"And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion." — Quran 98:5

"Actions are by intentions, and every person will have what they intended." — Sahih Bukhari
