اسْتِغْفَار

Istighfar

Is-tigh-faar

Seeking forgiveness — the practice that opens every closed door.

The Prophet ﷺ sought forgiveness more than 70 times a day — and he was free of sin. Istighfar is not only for the guilty. It is for the forgetful, the distracted, the proud, the ungrateful. Ibn al-Qayyim said: Istighfar opens the door of provision. It opens the door of mercy. It opens the door of ease. There is no closed door that Istighfar cannot reach.

"Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. He will send rain upon you in continuing showers." — Quran 71:10-11

"Whoever makes Istighfar abundantly, Allah will provide relief from every hardship and a way out from every difficulty." — Abu Dawud

What in your life might open if you returned to consistent Istighfar?
