Deeper Understanding

Niyyah is the intention held in the heart before and during an action. It is what determines whether an act is worship or habit, obedience or routine. The same action done with different Niyyah can have entirely different weight on the Day of Judgment. Correcting your Niyyah is one of the most powerful spiritual practices available.
