Sadaqah

Voluntary charity — every act of goodness is Sadaqah.

Sadaqah is broader than money. The Prophet ﷺ said: every act of goodness is Sadaqah — a smile, removing harm from a path, helping someone carry a load, speaking a kind word. Sadaqah extinguishes sins like water extinguishes fire. And the Prophet ﷺ said the best Sadaqah is given when you are healthy and hopeful, not when you are at death's door.

"Those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah and then do not follow up what they have spent with reminders of it or injury — they will have their reward." — Quran 2:262
