أَمَانَة
Amanah
Ah-maa-nah
Trustworthiness — fulfilling what has been placed in your care.
Amanah is the divine trust. The Quran says the heavens, earth, and mountains all declined to carry it — and the human being accepted. It encompasses fulfilling promises, honoring responsibilities, returning what belongs to others, and being faithful in private as in public. The Prophet ﷺ was known as Al-Amin — the trustworthy — long before revelation. Amanah is character before creed.
"Indeed, Allah commands you to return trusts to their rightful owners." — Quran 4:58
"There is no faith for one who has no trustworthiness." — Ahmad
