شُكْر
Shukr
Shoo-kr
Gratitude — acknowledging Allah's blessings with heart, tongue, and action.
Deeper Understanding
Shukr is more than saying Alhamdulillah. It is recognizing that every blessing — breath, sight, food, love, safety — is a gift from Allah. True Shukr flows from the heart in recognition, rises to the tongue in praise, and moves through the limbs in obedience. Ingratitude blinds the heart; gratitude expands it.
