Tawadu
Tah-waa-du
Humility — seeing yourself truthfully before Allah and people.
Tawadu is not self-deprecation. It is accurate sight — seeing yourself as a servant who owns nothing, knows little, and owes everything to Allah. The scholars said: the more a person grows in knowledge and righteousness, the more humble they become — because they see more clearly how far they still have to go. Arrogance is the illusion of arrival. Tawadu is the honesty of the journey.
"And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily." — Quran 25:63
"No one humbles themselves for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises them." — Sahih Muslim
